
Born in mainland China in 1957, Choi Cho Kwong moved to Hong Kong in 1966 and settled there. From 1980 to 2001, he worked in three-dimensional production and product design, specialising in commercial sculpture, and now devotes himself to artistic creation.
In 2002, he completed the Art Specialist Course in Painting organised by the Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre. In 2003, he took part in the Passing Through Cattle Depot Exhibition and the Chief Executive Exhibition. In 2004, he participated in the Victoria Harbour Painting and Discussion Exhibition, the Travel Light Exhibition in Hong Kong and Chongqing, and the Colour to Cattle Depot Exhibition. In the same year, he also completed the Art Specialist Course in Sculpture organised by the Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre.
In 2005, he participated in the 5 Senses and the 6th Exhibition at the Goethe-Institut, and in the same year his work was selected for the Hong Kong Art Biennial Exhibition. In 2007, he held a solo exhibition at the Cattle Depot Artist Village (Artist Commune), and also took part in the Local Ginger Joint Exhibition at Artist Commune and at Central Plaza in Wan Chai, a joint exhibition at the Hong Kong Central Library, and Sentimental Years · Mirroring Ten Years at the Fringe Club.
In 2008, his work was selected for Beyond the Image at the Macao Museum of Art, a China abstract painting open call exhibition, and he also participated in the Love China, Welcome the Olympics joint exhibition. In 2009, he held the solo exhibition Choi Cho Kwong New Works Exhibition 2009: Red Elegance at the Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre.
